[Brandy – Sittin’ Up in My Room]
I know. I know. I really have this habit of not updating for you guys on the regular. I’m trying my best to make time…I promise to try harder! Alright, first things first. I’m going to introduce to you my favourite product for the month of October and November. Redken recently relaunched, and revamped their All Soft haircare line. Thus far, I’ve spoken to you about the Extreme and Color Extend line. One is used for distressed hair, the other is for color treated hair. The All Soft line is designed for those with dry and brittle hair.

As many of you know November is the month where men all over Canada and other parts of the world begin to grow their “Mo” to raise awareness and funds for men’s health issues – more specifically prostate cancer. So for 30 days, I will embark on this…challenge on growing out my moustache. On the Movember Canada website they outline the rulse of growing out your “Mo”:
“1. There is to be no joining of the Mo to side burns – That’s a beard.
2. There is to be no joining of the handlebars – That’s a goatee.
3. A small complimentary growth under the bottom lip is allowed (aka a tickler).”
A few examples of the styles out there…

The Saturdays – My Heart Takes Over
I find it very funny how the universe works. I’d been wanting to do some type of bridal work for some time. I guess, the universe heard me and answered my wants! Earlier this month, when the Vancouver weather was still nice and crisp, I got the chance to work at the Bling Boutique Show: Bisou Bridal Showcase 2011! The Opus salon team comprised of Jessica Jan, Sophia Bacica, Lauryn Lutz, and myself, strolled on into the Rosewood Hotel Georgia early morning ready to do hair.

Drake – Sooner Than Later
Late September I got that chance to work another fashion show for Blushing Boutique. In fact the last time I had worked with them was during VFW a few months ago. On the night of the show, a few of my coworkers and I, arrived at Blushing Boutique located on Dunsmuir St. where we started hair. This time around the look for hair was a very natural, soft wavy do. I always enjoy collaborating on runway type of shows because its a great way to network and meet fresh faces. At the same time, its nice seeing familiar faces. In fact there were a few models that were a part of the show that I’d met and worked with during the first show I’d done! Needless to say, I enjoyed working with Shelly and the Blushing Boutique team, and I can’t wait to see whats to come!
Here are a few shots backstage and of the models on the runway!

In this curl set, our team used Real Control Mineral Elixir, and Spray Starch 15. Along with Quick Dry 18 to finish.
I hope you guys enjoyed that. Stay tuned for a blog post of a bridal show I recently was a part of over the weekend. Gorgeous dresses, beautiful models, and elegant hair. What more can you ask for? Also, special thanks to Norm Lee Photography and Kuna Photography for capturing great shots that night!

Alicia Keys – Unthinkable

Just some shots of my girl Cheryl and the ombré we’d done on her hair! I’d normally go into the whole experience and process but I’m going to come short and just provide you guys with some photos. There’re a few events that I’ll be participating in with Opus Salon that I’ll be able to share that with y’all! And some big news soon to come! :D:D:D:D:D:D

David Guetta – Titanium (ft. Sia)

It’s go go go time. Doing a lot of work on my weekends and what not! Like the vicious cycle, eh? But at the same time, I’ve got some exciting stuff coming very soon! So stay tuned. Tomorrow I’ll blog a few photos I took a few weeks ago.

Beyonce – Love On Top
It’s been a quick minute since I last posted an entry on my blog! August had been so go-go-g0 with something going down every weekend I’m surprised I was actually able to keep some type of on going entries. Summer is just about over and everyone is headed back to school for either another year, or another semester. I haven’t had the chance to share any up-do’s with you. So what better way then to do it now? I had the pleasure to do an up style for my dear friend Holly a few weeks ago.
If I could tell you anything about her…I’d probably tell you that many times, when we go out, she likes to incorporate twists, or braids, or something of that sort to her style. And that’s pretty much what the inspiration for the updo was…something undone, tousled, and not so primp and proper.

CUT&COLORFIEND x LOVEHARD
IT’S FINALLY HERE! About a month ago I had the privilege to collaborate with some of Vancouver’s up and coming. Let me fill you in on the process of all of this (of course I would!) Anyway, my dearest best friend, sister, mentor, and all thats good, Char Loro from Lovehard, came to Vancouver early July. Flashback to just under a year before that around November/December of 2010…me = still in hair school at Blanche Macodnald, her = student at Ryerson for Radio and Television arts. Together we put a small amateur photoshoot together and had some fun! Fast forward to last month, an idea came to mind and I thought, “Why not give a second go?” This time, bigger, better, and this time we’d push the limits just a little more!
That we did.
I spear headed the vision and pulled together a few people that I’d met within the last year as well. Our make-up artist Paola Ortega, and fashion stylist Florence Gantong. My vision?
Urban girls, the type of girl whose idea of a good time would be shopping on Robson, or eating at a cute little hotspot in downtown Vancouver…with a twist. These girls, on this day, find themselves out of the city, and in a rural place. Of course, still fabby – all day, everyday.
So on that Monday morning, we all gathered at my home and set up shop. Hair, make up, wardrobe. about 8 hours later…these were the fruits of our labor. Be prepared because there’s a quite a few photos!
